El Paredón is a small rural fishing community and surfing paradise based in the Sipacate-Naranjo National Park on the Pacific coast of Guatemala. We have worked alongside community partners La Choza Chula since 2015 to build the secondary school, a computer laboratory and an organic garden for students, so this is a unique opportunity to see sustainable development in action! The current community center space is in desperate need of renovation, with the roof being replaced several times a year due to heavy rain. The new multi-use salon and community space will be used for meetings, outdoor education classes, graduation ceremonies and presentations as well as providing a central focal point for the school. Join us for the next phase of this incredible project where we continue to work towards providing access to quality education for young people in this beautiful community.
