El Paredón is a small rural fishing community and surfing paradise based in the Sipacate-Naranjo National Park on the Pacific coast of Guatemala. The community center of this lovely town, surrounded by tropical greenery and palm-thatched houses, is in desperate need of renovation, with the roof being replaced several times a year due to heavy rain. The new multi-use salon and community space will be used for meetings, outdoor education classes, graduation ceremonies and presentations as well as providing a central focal point for the school.
Surf For Life funds help support the new community center. Volunteers will work side-by-side with community members, guided by a local foreman, to lay the foundation of the new center.
