Project Details

The design of the Playa Gigante Community Garden utilizes drought tolerant landscaping (especially because demand for water is growing as the population of the area expands rapidly) by planting and landscaping with local vegetation that needs minimal water.

Additionally, the new garden will be used for outdoor, hands-on education at the health center, bringing the classroom outside and under the sun, to learn how natural elements have been used for healing for so many years.

We're very excited about this greenery project, and we believe that it will support cross-cultural learning and exchange for both our volunteer group and the local community!

**Special thanks to the Hansen Watkins Family Trust for making the health center greenery project come to life!
